Simon Ragoonanan says he believes that part of helping his daughter discover her identity is letting her express herself through her wardrobe.
This is Simon Ragoonanan, a former television producer turned stay-at-home dad.
Ragoonanan has a blog called Man vs. Pink , where he discusses how to raise a well-rounded daughter in a world full of gender-biased marketing.
"I think little girls should aspire to be more than just princesses, that pink doesn’t have to be the only colour they like, and that all toys are gender neutral toys," he writes.
Their reasoning is pretty simple, he told the Independent.
In her first three years, my wife and I have tried our best to present to our daughter a broad idea of what it is to be a girl. Now we need to let her discover who she is herself. Choosing what she wears every morning is just a small part of that.
