Foreign minister Julie Bishop performed a spectacular double, an eye-roll then facepalm, while listening to the treasurer Joe Hockey in parliament on Monday.

Mr Hockey was paying tribute to the late former prime minister Malcolm Fraser, when he mentioned the formation of the "expenditure review committee" and Ms Bishop could not even take it.

She is reportedly furious at Mr Hockey over reports there will be more foreign aid cuts in her portfolio and was embarrassed when she was asked about them on Monday morning.
